Yes, I am an in-network provider with all Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Plans. I do not accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plans. If you are paying through insurance, a co-pay is due at the time of service. If you have a deductible, you must first meet your deductible before your sessions are eligible for coverage.
I am an out-of-network provider for all other plans, but can offer a “superbill” for you to be reimbursed through your out-of-network benefits. Each insurance carrier and plan is different so I recommend you contact your insurance provider directly with any questions regarding coverage. The best way to figure out your benefits is to call the number on the back of your insurance card.
Questions to Ask:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
What is my out-of-network deductible? How much of my deductible has been met this year?
What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
How much will I be reimbursed for a 60 Minute Initial Evaluation (CPT Code: 90791) and 60 Minute Ongoing Individual Therapy 60 Minute Session (CPT Code: 90837)?
How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

I accept payments securely through Stripe, which supports major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. I also accept payments through FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Health Savings Account) cards.
To ensure a seamless therapy experience, I request that clients provide a valid credit card on file during the initial session. Your card information will be securely encrypted, and it will only be charged for appointment payment or in the event of a missed appointment or late cancellation as outlined in the cancellation policy. Payment is done through a convenient and secure online platform.

We start with an Intake Evaluation, and after that we’ll discuss what therapy could look like for you moving forward.
I recommend starting therapy at a weekly frequency in order to build rapport and establish treatment goals. Once you are experiencing progress with your treatment goals, we can discuss shifting to meeting every other week.

I charge my full session fee if your appointment is cancelled or re-scheduled within 24 hours of the previously scheduled appointment.

If your child is between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age, they are entitled to confidential psychotherapy according to Virginia law. The exception to confidentiality would be if your child is engaging in risk-oriented behavior, and your involvement is necessary for their safety. I will review categories of risk with both you and your child during the intake session, and develop a communication plan if risk factors are currently present.
If your child would like to involve you in the therapeutic process, we may invite you to join part of a session, or schedule a separate parent meeting. It is very likely that I will need your perspective in order to treat your child, but I will request your child’s consent before coordinating with you.
I can also share books, podcasts, articles and other psychoeducation resources with you so you feel knowledgeable and empowered to support your child’s therapy goals at home.

Totally fine! Many clients seek out purely talk therapy with me. I’ll invite you to consider integrating art materials into your therapy when appropriate, but I respect whatever you want to get out of our time together.

Nope, art therapy is all about the process of creating - not necessarily the product you create! And as an art therapist, I’m trained to teach people the basics of art making - so no pre-existing skills are required or expected.
As an artistic genius once said, “anyone can cook!”

A huge question! And the best way I can answer it would be through a free, 20 minute consultation call - which you can schedule here. We can discuss what your clinical needs are at the moment, and I can share my typical approach for someone with your needs. If you’d like to read more about the specific therapy modalities that I offer, please look here.
